The Gabonese player, whose full name is Aaron Salem Boupendza, was born on August 7, 1996, in the city of Moanda, Gabon. Aaron Salem Boupendza, who started his football career at his home country's team CF Mounana, was recruited into the Bordeaux youth academy in 2016. After playing on loan for Pau FC, Ajaccio, Tours FC, and CD Feirense, he returned to his team.

Boupendza, whose contract was terminated in August 2020, joined Hatayspor after reaching an agreement. Aaron Boupendza, who became the top scorer of the Süper Lig by scoring 22 goals with Hatayspor in the 2020-21 season, was transferred to Al Arabi for a transfer fee of 4.5 million Euros.
