35% hike in taxi fares in Istanbul! New short-distance fare announced

A 35% increase has been applied to public transport in Istanbul. The full ticket price has risen from 20 liras to 27 liras. The opening fee for taxis has also changed.

WHAT IS THE NEW SHORT-DISTANCE TAXI FARE IN ISTANBUL?

The taximeter opening fee for taxis has increased from 30 liras to 42 liras. The minimum fare, known as the short-distance fare for yellow taxis, has risen from 100 liras to 135 liras.

WHEN WILL THE 2025 TAXI FARE TARIFF GO INTO EFFECT?

The new tariff will be effective as of January 18.
