Adjustment to metro services in Istanbul! Hours have changed
Metro Istanbul has issued a new statement regarding the metro services that were suspended in Istanbul yesterday morning. It was announced that additional services will be organized on the M2 line on Thursday, March 20, due to the Turkey-Hungary football match. With this measure, it is aimed to reduce the density of fans before and after the match.
While the disruptions in metro services that began yesterday morning in Istanbul drew significant backlash, Metro Istanbul made a new announcement today. Following the disruptions on the M1 and M2 lines, all eyes have turned to new statements.
According to the statement made by Metro Istanbul, additional services will be organized on the M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro Line due to the Turkey-Hungary football match to be played on Thursday, March 20.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES ON THE M2 METRO LINE DUE TO THE MATCH
Metro Istanbul has added extra services to the M2 line to reduce passenger congestion due to the Turkey-Hungary match.
Between 18:00 – 19:45:
In addition to the Yenikapı-Hacıosman services, non-stop services will be organized between Yenikapı and Seyrantepe at 7.5-minute intervals.
After the match:
In addition to the Hacıosman-Yenikapı services, non-stop services will be operated from Seyrantepe to Yenikapı every 5 minutes.
The services will continue until the fan congestion has completely cleared.
WILL METRO SERVICES RETURN TO NORMAL?
No official statement has been made yet regarding the return to normal of the metro services that were halted yesterday.
Work is ongoing to resolve the disruptions experienced on the M1 and M2 lines.
Passengers are advised to follow the announcements from Metro Istanbul.
Football fans planning to attend the match are especially advised to consider alternative transportation options due to the congestion.
