Ali Erbaş had said 'They begrudged us one Audi': List of luxury official vehicles in the Presidency of Religious Affairs' garage revealed

President of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş, whose budget surpasses many ministries and who is frequently in the news not only for luxury spending but also for his late-model luxury cars, met with journalists in recent days.

Erbaş responded to the criticism directed at him regarding his luxury official vehicle by saying, "We were left stranded on the road a few times with the old vehicle. Once, while coming from Konya, a tire blew out, and the driver barely saved us. For this reason, an Audi was purchased. However, they even begrudged this to the President of Religious Affairs."

Although Erbaş cited the vehicle used by former President of Religious Affairs Mehmet Görmez, Diyanet sources reported that Erbaş's words do not reflect the truth.

According to the report by Birgün, presidential sources stated that President of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş used an Audi A6 for a period, and after he "did not like the vehicle," an Audi A8 was purchased to replace it.

It was learned that the Audi A8, which was claimed to have been returned, is in the garage belonging to the Diyanet Foundation.

On the other hand, the number and variety of automobiles located at the central campus of the Presidency of Religious Affairs also drew attention.

Diyanet sources stated that Ali Erbaş's claim that "There are 16 vehicles at the headquarters" also does not reflect the truth.

Emphasizing that there are dozens of vehicles in the garage purchased through the Diyanet Foundation, Diyanet sources used the following expressions: "A special closed garage was built for the presidential office. We expect them to share the vehicles inside that garage with the public in a transparent manner."
