Allegation that former police chief placed bets through Murat Özkaya!
While the list of 29 people detained in the betting investigation draws attention, it has been alleged that former police chief Emrah Günaydı placed bets through Eyüpspor President Murat Özkaya.
Detention warrants were issued for 29 people this morning in the third wave of the betting investigation.
Among those detained are former Galatasaray Deputy Chairman Erden Timur, as well as well-known figures from various sectors.
Another notable name in the operation is Emrah Günaydı. Günaydı, who is stated to have left his post as police chief some time ago, is now working in the restaurant business.
However, according to Sözcü, it was learned that Günaydı and the arrested Eyüpspor President Murat Özkaya are close friends. The allegations that Özkaya placed bets through Günaydı have become one of the most striking points of the investigation.
The list of 29 people for whom detention warrants were issued did not only include Erden Timur and Emrah Günaydı. Vice President Fatih Kulaksız, an important figure at Eyüpspor Club, is also among those detained.
It was reported that Kulaksız was also taken to the police station as part of the betting investigation.
