Allegations of kidnapping had made headlines... Decision week for İnan Kıraç: Marriage could be annulled

The marriage of İnan Kıraç, founder of Kıraça Holding and one of Turkey's leading industrialists, to Emine Alangoya in December 2024 was taken to court by his family.

Kıraç's daughter, İpek Kıraç, applied to the Istanbul Anatolian 18th Family Court, requesting the annulment of the marriage on the grounds that her father's mental state did not meet the requirements for legal capacity to marry.

“LACKS LEGAL CAPACITY”

During the court process, it was decided to refer İnan Kıraç to the Council of Forensic Medicine to evaluate his neurological condition. In the report prepared regarding Kıraç, who appeared before the 10th Specialized Board, it was stated that the 87-year-old businessman did not possess legal capacity and required the appointment of a guardian.

In line with this report, the court revoked Kıraç's legal capacity and appointed lawyers Atakan Yılmaz and Mert Öztekin as temporary guardians.

ALLEGATIONS OF ABDUCTION DOMINATED THE AGENDA

While the marriage annulment process was ongoing, another development occurred that brought İnan Kıraç to the forefront. The lawyers appointed as Kıraç's guardians applied to police teams, stating that shortly after his marriage on December 20, 2024, Kıraç was abducted by certain individuals from the hospital without being discharged.

ROBBERY BUREAU LAUNCHED AN INVESTIGATION

Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Public Security Branch, Robbery Bureau, detained three suspects identified as B.C., A.Ş., and K.İ. as part of the investigation they launched into the incident.

The suspects, whose procedures at the police station were completed, were referred to the courthouse. During this process, it was reported that İnan Kıraç was handed over to his guardians and taken home.

COURT DECISION TO BE DELIVERED ON MAY 27

The lawsuit filed for the annulment of İnan Kıraç's marriage had previously been postponed pending the outcome of the guardianship case heard at the Anatolian 2nd Civil Court of Peace.

However, with all processes now completed, it has been learned that the decision regarding the annulment of the marriage will be delivered at the hearing to be held on Monday, May 27.
