Alleged secret crisis at the Ministry of Interior: He complained about Yerlikaya to the Palace!

With a new decree issued by the Ministry of Interior, many police chiefs were reassigned, while some were dismissed from their posts. Among these changes, one notable name was Çanakkale Police Chief Kenan Kurt. Details regarding the background of Kurt's dismissal were revealed in an article by Tolga Şardan.

According to Şardan, the primary reason for the dismissal of Çanakkale Police Chief Kenan Kurt was a reflection of the troubled period that has been ongoing for some time between Deputy Minister of Interior Bülent Turan and Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya. The fact that Kurt's dismissal occurred without any judicial or administrative investigation is being evaluated as a result of this tension.

TURAN'S PRIVATE MEETING WITH ERDOĞAN

Former AKP Group Deputy Chairman and Deputy Minister of Interior Bülent Turan recently held a private meeting with President Erdoğan. This was no ordinary meeting. 

Turan detailed to President Erdoğan that Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya was treating him like a 'stepchild' and that this situation was negatively affecting him.

Among the complaints Turan conveyed to Erdoğan, it was emphasized that the relationship Yerlikaya established with him was problematic. Turan described this situation as being treated like a 'stepchild'. 

It was learned that after the meeting, President Erdoğan reacted after listening to these complaints. Erdoğan expressed his reaction to Chief of Staff Hasan Doğan, asking, 'Mr. Hasan, why are we not aware of these things?'

DISMISSAL OF THE ÇANAKKALE POLICE CHIEF

Turan's private meeting with President Erdoğan was linked to the tension cited as the reason for the reassignments. Following Minister Yerlikaya's negative attitude toward Turan and the complaints Turan relayed to Erdoğan, the dismissal of Çanakkale Police Chief Kenan Kurt came to the agenda.

Şardan also brought up the possibility that this meeting could reflect on cabinet changes.
