Arrested for encouraging drug use: First image of Lvbel C5 from prison emerges
Lvbel C5, who reached a wide audience with his song "Havhavhav" and was the second most-streamed artist in Turkey in 2024, was arrested on charges of encouraging drug use in his songs. The rapper's first image from prison has circulated on social media.
The famous rapper, whose real name is Süleyman Burak Bodur and who is known by the name Lvbel C5, has been arrested on charges of encouraging the use of narcotic substances in his songs. It has been learned that Lvbel C5, one of the most popular rap artists of the recent period, was arrested by the court and sent to Kandıra Prison.
Called to the Gebze District Police Department last week as part of the investigation, Bodur argued in his statement that the lyrics of his songs were not intentional. It was learned that the rapper said in his statement,
"I only paid attention to the rhyme while writing the lyrics. I did not know that these expressions constituted a crime."
The rapper, against whom a lawsuit has been filed with a request for a prison sentence of 5 to 10 years on charges of "encouraging drug use," was sent to prison by the court to which he was referred with a request for arrest.

According to 2024 Spotify data, Lvbel C5 was the second most-streamed musician in Turkey, and two of his songs entered the top 10 most-streamed songs of the year.
