An explosion occurred yesterday at approximately 08:30 in the capsule production section of the ZSR A.Ş. ammunition factory, which operates in the Kavaklı neighborhood of Balıkesir's Karesi district and employs 615 workers on a shift basis.

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

The Balıkesir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the explosion. Under the coordination of a deputy chief prosecutor, 4 public prosecutors were assigned, and a 5-person expert committee consisting of specialists in chemistry, machinery, occupational safety, and geophysics was appointed to determine the cause of the explosion.

FACTORY HAD PREVIOUS EXPLOSION
