Bombshell claim from pro-government journalist following reception photo!
While the photo from the reception at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) continues to dominate the agenda, Ahmet Hakan, Editor-in-Chief of the pro-government newspaper Hürriyet, has put forward a striking claim.
At the reception for the opening of the new legislative year of the TBMM on October 1, AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with opposition leaders.
While the image captured at the opening, which the CHP boycotted in protest, was discussed for days, the most notable point was DEVA Party leader Ali Babacan and Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu sitting next to Erdoğan.
Erdoğan had said the following regarding the photo in question:
“That frame is the true picture of Turkey. Some are trying to portray Turkey as divided into camps and shattered, but the truth is the picture of unity and solidarity there. Those who cannot be a part of that picture should sit down and hold themselves accountable.”
Hürriyet Editor-in-Chief Ahmet Hakan, known for his proximity to the government, put forward a striking claim.
In his column titled “Three things could happen in three days,” Hakan suggested that Ali Babacan might close the DEVA Party and return to the AKP. Hakan also made a comparison between Babacan and Muharrem İnce.
On the other hand, Hakan suggested in the continuation of his article that Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş could come to the public agenda with a move that would surprise everyone.
HOW DID BABACAN RESPOND TO THE CRITICISM?
Babacan responded to the criticism regarding the photo at the reception with the words: "A single photo frame from the parliamentary reception has landed right in the middle of the country's agenda. A group that supposedly supports the CHP started attacking. The insults, the slurs... I want to address that crowd: Are we going to ask you where we will go or whom we will greet?"
