Both a murderer and a rapist! Where is Cihan Oral, who slaughtered Ayşe and her family?

Violence, rape, and femicide in Turkey show no signs of stopping.

Most recently, it has emerged that a young girl named "Ayşe" in Muş was raped and then slaughtered along with her family. 

The rapist and murderer, Cihan Oral, has still not been found.

Cumhuriyet columnist and journalist Barış Terkoğlu, who brought the incident to light, wrote the following in his article titled "You killed Ayşe!":

SHE LEARNED THAT CİHAN ORAL WAS MARRIED

"I know, people don't like to talk about justice. Yet, the mud of the swamp we are in comes from it.

Last Tuesday, there was a hearing for a case that no one is talking about. It didn't make the news, and no one followed it. The defendant wasn't even around. It was in a remote corner of the country, in Muş.

Ayşe was born on April 20, 1997. She lived in the village of Azaklı in the Korkut district of Muş. She had hope for the future. She wanted to get married and build a home.

In fact, there was a candidate. She had been talking for a while with Cihan Oral, who was 6 years her senior. Until that day. The number calling her explained that she was Cihan's wife, that they had 6 children, and that she was pregnant with their 7th. That is how Ayşe learned that Cihan was married. Upon this, she cut off all contact with him. She even blocked his number so he couldn't reach her.

But she couldn't stop Cihan. He kept saying, "You cannot leave me." He even sent intermediaries to Ayşe's family home to make her his second wife. Her father, who stood by his daughter, chased them away.

HE KIDNAPPED AND RAPED HER

Cihan would not give up.

On November 2, 2023, when she went out with her sister Hacer, a dark blue car stopped in front of them. Cihan got out of the car with his accomplice. He had a gun in his hand. According to what Hacer recounted, he dragged Ayşe, who was begging "Please let me go," by her hair and forced her into the car. After a while, he dropped her off in a desolate area and made her walk. He tore Ayşe's clothes and raped her.

After her sister reported that "My sister was kidnapped," her family and the gendarmerie went out to search for Ayşe. The day after the rape, Cihan released Ayşe and turned himself in. He thought that after the rape, Ayşe would be forced to stay with him and that her family would give their approval. He kept telling Ayşe, "You are forced to be with me now."

However, it did not happen as he expected.

Ayşe filed a complaint. She recounted the rape she suffered. The Bitlis Forensic Medicine Institute also confirmed the entire story with evidence, from the pulling of her hair to the rape, in the report it issued.

Cihan, as every rapist does, talked about a period of dating and claimed, "It was consensual." In his statement, he even shamelessly said, "If she accepts, I will take her as a co-wife to my wife under an imam marriage."

Ayşe was afraid of the traditions; she could be killed. She was placed in a State Women's Shelter. However, her family's attitude was not as she feared. They stood by Ayşe. She returned home.

HE SLAUGHTERED AYŞE, HER FATHER, AND HER BROTHER

No, do not think that Cihan was arrested.

The court accepted the "strong suspicion of a crime" but decided that Cihan Oral should be tried without arrest. It issued precautionary measures such as a travel ban, periodic signing, and not approaching Ayşe's residence.

How tolerant the judiciary, which arrests people for a tweet, an article, or a news report, becomes when it comes to rapists!

Do not think that Cihan obeyed the "judicial control" decision. He constantly sent messages to the family. He told them to withdraw their complaint and give him their daughter. He was rejected every time.

Finally...

On March 9, he raided Ayşe's house at 3 a.m. with a long-barreled weapon. He slaughtered Ayşe, her father who stood by her, and her brother. He also severely wounded her mother. Then he ran away.

The state, which finds everyone and everything when it wants to, could not find the rapist and murderer Cihan!

ARREST WARRANT AFTER THE MURDER!

What did the judiciary do?

Despite Ayşe saying "I was raped," despite the forensic report, and despite her sister's testimony; the judiciary, which tried Cihan without arrest, took action only after Ayşe and her family were slaughtered! They issued an arrest warrant on the grounds that he violated the judicial control decision because he did not go to sign in!

Moreover, according to what the survivors of Ayşe's family say, they had applied to the state to "Protect us" even before the rape. However, far from protecting them, the path to the massacre had been paved.

The trial for the murder of Ayşe and her family has not yet been opened. The file is waiting for Cihan Oral to be captured.

As for the rape case, it continues without a defendant or a victim after Ayşe was killed and the rapist fled! The case that Ayşe, who is now in her grave, cannot attend is being followed by Çisel Demirkan, a lawyer for the Children and Women First Association. Ayşe's surviving relatives are being threatened by Cihan's relatives."
