Call to MASAK from Cemal Enginyurt: Who is the AKP deputy who bought 12 apartments for 80 million each?
CHP deputy Cemal Enginyurt claimed that an AKP deputy purchased 12 apartments in Istanbul, each valued at 80 million TL. Calling on MASAK, Enginyurt demanded an investigation into the assets of all public officials.
CHP İstanbul MP Cemal Enginyurt made a claim on a television program that is set to stir controversy. Alleging that an unnamed AKP lawmaker purchased 12 luxury apartments in Istanbul, each worth 80 million lira, Enginyurt called on the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) to take action.
Stating that the total value of the apartments in question reaches approximately 1 billion TL, Enginyurt emphasized that the source of these funds must be clarified.
"How is such wealth acquired with an MP's salary?" Enginyurt asked, addressing MASAK and demanding a comprehensive investigation into assets.
CALL TO MASAK
Cemal Enginyurt used the following expressions in his speech:
“This gentleman bought himself 12 apartments at 80 million each. MASAK, where are you? With what money did this gentleman buy these, why aren't you asking? There is no need for someone to report it. MASAK should investigate the assets of all MPs. The assets of mayors, deputy mayors, and municipal council members should also be examined.”
Stating that the fight against corruption cannot be limited to words, Enginyurt expressed that the issue should be brought to the Parliament's agenda. Indicating that he is open to a comprehensive legislative proposal, Enginyurt voiced his suggestion as follows:
“Including the advisors at the Palace, private secretaries, ministers, and deputy ministers... Come on, let's all disclose it to all of Turkey together. If it is necessary to pass a law, let's pass a law in Parliament.”
