Can Holding investigation spreads to Masonic Lodge: That name is also in custody
Among those detained in the Can Holding investigation is former Bilgi University Rector Remzi Sanver. Sanver is also known as the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Turkey.
In the second wave of operations regarding the investigation into Can Holding, 26 people, including former Bilgi University Rector Prof. Dr. Remzi Sanver, were detained. Sanver is also known to be the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Turkey.
In the operation carried out by the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Branch, a total of 26 suspects were detained, including Kenan Tekdağ, Remzi Sanver, Şakir Can, Murat Can's wife Zühal Can, and Betül Can. It was determined that three individuals are currently abroad.
During the searches conducted at company headquarters and the suspects' homes as part of the investigation, numerous digital materials and documents were seized.
In reports prepared by MASAK, 88 billion TL in unregistered money traffic was detected across 121 companies that were seized by the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF).
THE NOTABLE NAME
As the investigation continues, one of the names that has drawn public attention, Prof. Dr. Remzi Sanver, is known not only for his academic career but alsofor being among the'Grand Masters'of the Grand Lodgeof Free and AcceptedMasons of Turkey.He has been servingas the head of the association.
Sanver has been serving as the president of the association since 2023.
