Celal Şengör in legal dispute with new landlord

Geologist and academic Prof. Dr. Celal Şengör has come into conflict with his landlord over the villa in Sarıyer, Istanbul, where he has resided for approximately four years.

It is alleged that Şengör, who continues to live in the villa that was sold about a year and a half ago, has fallen into a dispute with the new owner of the property.

According to a report by Sabah, the new owner, Garen Ç., stated that he wanted to live in the house himself after purchasing the property.

The landlord, who conveyed this request to Celal Şengör, received a negative response. It was reported that Şengör continues to pay a monthly rent of 200 thousand liras, but no agreement could be reached between the parties.

EVICTION REQUEST TO COURT

Upon the failure to resolve the dispute, Garen Ç. applied to the Istanbul Civil Court of Peace and filed an eviction lawsuit.

In his petition, he stated that he bought the house 1.5 years ago and that he wants to live in the villa himself because he has a large family.

ŞENGÖR PREPARING FOR THE CASE

It has been learned that Celal Şengör has rejected the eviction request and is preparing to defend his legal rights. The court has accepted the landlord's petition.

Following the submission of Şengör's defense petition, the hearing is expected to take place in the coming days.
