Chilling letter from Ahmet Minguzzi's murder suspect: Statements that did not reach the court

In the ongoing trial regarding the killers of Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who lost his life 15 days ago in Kadıköy, a letter written by the detained defendant B.B. to another defendant, U.B., has drawn attention. The letter includes statements suggesting that the perpetrators of the murder could settle into prison comfortably.

In the incident that took place at the Tuesday Market in Kadıköy, Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi was stabbed 5 times by defendant B.B. after an argument with a group of cyclists. According to eyewitness accounts, U.B. also assisted during the incident by kicking Minguzzi. Minguzzi, who was seriously injured in the attack, lost his 15-day struggle for life in the hospital.

In the letter written by B.B., the phrase "We will serve our time like lions and get out" after the murder stood out. The statements in the letter, such as "You won't serve much time anyway, are your father and the others taking care of you? You'll be out in a year, we've already been in for 5 months. Hang in there for another 6-7 months," showed that the defendants maintained an attitude that belittled their crimes. Furthermore, defendant B.B. also gave advice on avoiding giving false statements regarding his own and others' crimes.

STATEMENTS THAT DID NOT REACH THE COURT:

B.B.'s letter also included his belief that the other defendants caused their own arrests by giving incorrect statements. By saying, "Why did Ayberk give a statement like that? If he hadn't given a false statement, he wouldn't have been arrested," he shared his thoughts aimed at influencing the course of the investigation and the court proceedings.

The prison administration concluded that the statements in the letter written by B.B. could "alter the course of the investigation with false declarations" and contained elements of praising and encouraging crime. Therefore, the letter was deemed objectionable and added to the case file as evidence.

HEARING POSTPONED TO OCTOBER 21

The 5th session of the murder trial in Kadıköy was held at the Anatolian 2nd Juvenile High Criminal Court. The court decided to continue the detention of the defendants and postponed the hearing to October 21.
