CHP deputy reveals names: Here are the bureaucrats receiving 3-4 salaries!

While deliberations were ongoing in the TBMM Planning and Budget Committee regarding an omnibus bill that includes extending the terms of commanders by YAŞ (Supreme Military Council) decision and raising the retirement age limit to 72, the statements made by CHP's Cevdet Akay changed the agenda of the committee.

Akay alleged that some department heads and deputy ministers at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism receive multiple salaries under the name of "attendance fees" and revealed them by name.

CLAIMS OF ‘PAY FROM 4-5 PLACES’

CHP Karabük Deputy Akay stated that some high-level public officials receive salaries from 4-5 different places by taking on roles in companies, foundations, and affiliates affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Stating that these practices hurt the public conscience, Akay gave the following names as examples:

Deputy Minister Batuhan Mumcu: Member of the Yunus Emre Foundation and Ziraat Bank Supervisory Board.

Deputy Minister Nadir Alpaslan: Member of the Board of Directors of Kuveyt Türk Participation Bank.

Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture Mücahid Taylan: An executive at the Meat and Milk Board (ESK), and there are also allegations of suspicious relationships in live animal imports on the agenda.

Cevdet Akay called out, "If these allegations are not true, the relevant individuals should come out and make a statement to the public saying, 'We do not receive these fees.'"

Drawing attention to the partnership structure of organizations such as TURAŞ and the Tourism Solidarity Foundation (TUDAV), Akay stated that through DÖSİMM's shares in these companies, the businesses remain outside the scope of Court of Accounts audits.

Accordingly, it is not fully known where the revenues from facilities such as public beaches operated with public resources go. Akay said, "There is no transparency. Even after managers are dismissed and leave their posts, they detect irregularities but cannot make their voices heard."

REACTION TO THE ARTICLE CONTRARY TO THE CONSTITUTION

Cevdet Akay also stated that Article 13 of the proposal is contrary to Article 20 of the Constitution. He argued that notifications to be made to the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR) would endanger personal data. He shared information that many public institutions and universities were also victims in an investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the matter.

LITTLE RAISE FOR RETIREES, HIGH SALARIES FOR BUREAUCRATS

Reminding that millions of retirees are struggling to make ends meet with a 15-16 percent raise, Akay said, "In such a difficult economic picture, it is unacceptable for public administrators to receive salaries from more than one place. A fair and livable wage system must be established."
