Compensation was being demanded for each of them: CHP to pay the lieutenants' compensation

While the lawsuits filed by the 5 lieutenants, who were dismissed from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) following the Military Academy graduation ceremony on charges of "indiscipline," for the cancellation of their dismissal and a stay of execution are ongoing, the issue of compensation payments has also come to the fore.

According to journalist and 12punto columnist Müyesser Yıldız, compensation of around 450-500 thousand liras is being demanded for each of the lieutenants. In her article, Yıldız stated that the father of one lieutenant had to withdraw the money accumulated in his private pension account in order to pay his son's compensation.

A statement also came from the CHP regarding the compensation for the lieutenants.

Following the article titled 'MSB's defense of the Lieutenants' written by Müyesser Yıldız, CHP Deputy Chairman responsible for the Ministry of National Defense, retired Rear Admiral Yankı Bağcıoğlu, made the following statement regarding the lieutenants' compensation:

Within the scope of the proposal by Chairman Özgür Özel, a group decision was taken unanimously for the compensation of the nine lieutenants, who were dismissed from the Tuzla Infantry School Command and the Military Academy Command following High Disciplinary Board processes, to be paid by Republican People's Party deputies.

The family of one of our lieutenants stated that they would make the compensation payment themselves and expressed their gratitude.

Currently, payment decisions for six of the eight lieutenants have been sent to the relevant lieutenants by the Ministry of National Defense.

Following the delivery of all payment decisions to our lieutenants by the Ministry of National Defense, the compensation for the eight lieutenants will be paid within the framework of the decision taken.
