Controversial plan from the SDIF: Are the 'newborn gang' hospitals up for sale?
Journalist Nuray Babacan has alleged that the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (SDIF) plans to put the 23 private hospitals mentioned in the 'Newborn Gang' case up for sale with the approval of the Ministry of Health, even before the legal process is concluded. Claims of sales to large hospital chains and debates over creating unfair advantages have left a mark on the agenda.
Journalist Nuray Babacan has alleged that the SDIF plans to sell the 23 private hospitals accused of involvement in the case publicly known as the 'Newborn Gang' with the approval of the Ministry of Health before the trial concludes, stating, "The critical point is the claim that these institutions will be sold to large hospital chains. Allegations are circulating that an attempt is being made to create an advantage for certain parties."
The section of Nefes Gazetesi columnist Babacan's article today titled "WHO IS INTERESTED IN THESE HOSPITALS?" is as follows:
"Another health sector rumor concerns the 23 private hospitals alleged to have participated in the newborn gang crime. The SDIF, with the ministry's approval, is planning to sell these hospitals before the trial ends.
The study being conducted involves permitting the sale provided that the majority of hospital owners and shareholders agree and commit to not filing lawsuits in the future.
What is being said is this: after the sales are completed, the transfer funds will be held in a blocked bank account until the trials are over. It is stated that the majority of hospital owners are agreeable to this.
It is explained that the trials will take at least three years at best, and that there are issues regarding hospital staff and equipment during this process.
The critical point is the claim that these institutions will be sold to large hospital chains. Allegations are circulating that an attempt is being made to create an advantage for certain parties."
