Critical development for the CHP Congress: Court requests documents from the prosecutor's office

A new development has occurred in the annulment case regarding the 38th Ordinary Congress held by the Republican People's Party (CHP) in 2023.

The Ankara 42nd Civil Court of First Instance has written to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to complete missing documents in the case file, requesting that the most up-to-date information and documents on the matter be delivered to the court.

Speaking on the "Taksim Meydanı" program broadcast on TGRT Haber, journalist Nuray Başaran stated that the hearing scheduled for May 26 could be decisive for the CHP congress process.

Başaran emphasized that the annulment case in question was initially viewed by the CHP as a case expected to "become moot and be dismissed," but the court did not reach such a decision.

EXTRAORDINARY CONGRESS ALSO INCLUDED IN THE CASE

According to Başaran, the court has included not only the process regarding the ordinary congress but also the subsequent extraordinary congress in the case file.

All annulment cases filed regarding the CHP congress have been consolidated at the Ankara 42nd Civil Court of First Instance.

There is also a separate investigation being conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the congress.
