A notable development has occurred regarding Dardanel, Turkey's famous tuna brand.
It was stated that the company will sell a 17.06% stake, which is not traded on the stock exchange, to a foreign institution. The tuna brand made a statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) regarding the matter.
The following was included in the KAP statement:
"We have been informed that the following board of directors decision was taken by our controlling shareholder, Niyazi Önen Holding A.Ş.
In our company's Board of Directors meeting dated 28.11.2024;
It has been decided to begin negotiations for the sale of 100 million shares of Dardanel Önentaş Gıda Sanayi A.Ş. owned by our company (we own 68.60% of the company's capital), which are not traded on the stock exchange (this amount corresponds to 17.06% of the company's capital), to a foreign-based investor institution via an off-exchange transaction (provided that we remain the owner of 51.5% of the company's capital in any case), and to authorize Osman Niyazi Önen and/or Aşkın Kurultak in this regard."
