Diyanet President Ali Erbaş's daughter gets appointment by a fraction: She was behind in the exam but secured the position!

Şeyda Nur Küçük, daughter of Diyanet President Ali Erbaş, has been appointed as a research assistant at the Düzce University Faculty of Theology.

According to a report by Mustafa Bildircin from BirGün, Küçük, who ranked third in ALES scores and fifth in diploma grade point average among the 7 candidates who applied for the position, won the spot by a "fraction of a point."

The impact of ALES and diploma grades on the recruitment process was set at 30 percent each, while the foreign language score was set at 10 percent.

Although the foreign language score, the only criterion where Küçük was ahead, had a low impact, she outperformed her rivals in the entrance exam conducted by the university itself, which also carried a 30 percent weight.

While a candidate with an ALES score of 87.50 was given 39.5 points in the exam, and another candidate with a graduation grade of 86.7 was given 42.5 points, Küçük was awarded 67.5 points. Thanks to this high score, she rose to the top of the ranking and qualified for the position.

It was noted that the appointment was made during the tenure of the Düzce University Faculty of Theology Dean, İsmail Karagöz, a retired Diyanet official. Allegations had previously surfaced regarding Karagöz being the "person who closed Erbaş's FETÖ file," and it was stated that he had served on the Hajj pilgrimage more than 15 times.
