Efforts for return have begun: 4 thousand Euro salary will be provided!

Turkey has made a new move to reverse the brain drain that has been ongoing for years. The International Experienced Researcher Circulation Program (CoCirculation 3), launched by TÜBİTAK, aims to attract both Turkish scientists living abroad and foreign researchers to Turkey.

In this program, which will be carried out with the support of the European Commission's MSCA COFUND, comprehensive financial support will be provided to a total of 100 researchers over three years.

THREE SEPARATE CALLS OVER THREE YEARS

A call will be made each year within the scope of CoCirculation 3:

First call: Will be open for applications between September 1 – December 1, 2025, and 33 researchers will be supported during this process.

Second call: Will be held between August 3 – November 3, 2026, and funding will be provided to another 33 people.

Third and final call: Will be held between July 1 – October 1, 2027, and 34 more researchers will be included in the program.

In total, 100 qualified scientists will be enabled to conduct research in Turkey.

COMPREHENSIVE FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Attractive support is offered for researchers accepted into the program:

Monthly salary of 3,980 Euros

600 Euro family allowance

1,000 Euro research, training, and networking fund

250 Euro training support

130 Euro host institution contribution

50 Euro travel support

With these figures, the program provides resources at a level that will compete with scientist support programs in Europe.

According to TÜBİTAK's statement, CoCirculation 3 will not be limited to individual support. Increasing Turkey's academic productivity and international scientific collaborations are also among the program's primary goals. Participants will conduct their research at universities, research centers, and technology development zones in Turkey.

With this program, TÜBİTAK aims to both accelerate the reverse brain drain and strengthen Turkey's scientific infrastructure. The program is expected to focus on scientists working in strategic areas such as artificial intelligence, green transition, health, energy, and advanced materials.
