Erdoğan and İmamoğlu asked in latest poll: Change in their votes draws attention

As the CHP's primary election to determine its presidential candidate on March 23 approaches, the political atmosphere is increasingly heating up. Public opinion research companies continue to share their latest poll results.

Data from a new survey conducted by the Center for Social Impact Studies (TEAM) on February 20 has been shared with the public.

In the research, the shift in vote shares between İmamoğlu and Erdoğan after the distribution of undecided voters' votes drew attention. While the name at the top of the list reached a 54.1 percent vote share, it was observed that the candidate in second place remained at the 38.6 percent level.

According to information provided by Halk TV columnist İsmail Saymaz, the question "Do you think there should be an early election?" was asked within the scope of the survey.

While 59 percent of participants supported holding an early election, 34 percent opposed it, and 7 percent stated they were undecided.

When evaluated on a party basis, 87 percent of CHP voters, 78 percent of DEM voters, 65 percent of Zafer Party voters, 28 percent of MHP voters, and 21 percent of AK Party voters expressed that an early election should be held.

If an early election were to take place, 65.4 percent of participants hope that Erdoğan would lose, while 34.6 percent hope he would win.

Furthermore, while 51.2 percent of the segment predicts that Erdoğan will lose the elections, 48.8 percent are of the opinion that he will win.

CHP'S PRIMARY ELECTION DECISION

The party's decision to hold a primary election to determine its presidential candidate has also resonated widely with the public. According to the poll, while 59 percent of participants support this decision, 41 percent remain distant.

When looking at support rates by party, 90 percent of CHP voters, 80 percent of DEM voters, 60 percent of Zafer Party voters, and 52 percent of IYI Party voters evaluate this process positively.

IF THERE WERE AN ELECTION THIS SUNDAY…

Before the distribution of undecided voters, the CHP is in first place with 28.6 percent.

The AKP is in second place with 22.4 percent.

The MHP and DEM are in third place with 6 percent each.

Zafer Party 3.8 percent

Iyi Party 3.1 percent

YRP 2.4 percent

TIP 1.5 percent

Anahtar Party 1.2 percent

IF THE FIRST ROUND OF THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION WERE THIS SUNDAY…

Before the distribution of undecided voters, İmamoğlu receives 39.9 percent and Erdoğan receives 28.4 percent.

When undecided voters are distributed, İmamoğlu's vote rises to 54.1 percent.

Erdoğan receives 38.6 percent of the vote.

Fatih Erbakan and Ali Babacan share 7.3 percent of the vote.

While Erdoğan consolidates AKP voters, he loses 36.3 percent from the MHP.

İmamoğlu, on the other hand, consolidates CHP and DEM voters. He receives the majority of Zafer and Iyi Party voters.

In the second round of the presidential election, before the distribution of undecided voters, İmamoğlu receives 45.1 percent and Erdoğan receives 31.9 percent.

When undecided voters are distributed, İmamoğlu rises to 58.6 percent, and Erdoğan rises to 52.5 percent.
