The Gendarmerie searched for all traces that could contain DNA, such as blood, sperm, saliva, sweat, vomit, and hair on the carpets. The carpets, along with other evidence from the house, were sent to the Van Gendarmerie Criminal Laboratory and subjected to a comprehensive examination.

The pieces taken from the carpets were part of the analyses aimed at detecting DNA in the stains found in these areas.
