Fake food danger on our tables! Ministry reveals counterfeit products
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has shared a new list with the public regarding food products that have been tampered with. Cases such as seed oil in olive oil, vegetable oil in cheese, and mixtures of offal and poultry meat in sucuk (Turkish sausage) have been detected. The Ministry has exposed the companies involved in imitation and adulteration one by one.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues to inform the public by identifying imitation and adulterated products that endanger consumer health. Following laboratory analyses, different and low-quality substances were found in the contents of many products. The Ministry has announced the exposed products and companies in a list.
FOUND NOT TO MATCH THE LABEL
During inspections of staple foods such as meat, dairy, olive oil, and molasses, it was determined that product contents did not match their labels and that additives such as vegetable oil, poultry meat, and sugar had been added.
Citizens were urged to report any food products they suspect based on appearance or price via the ALO 174 Food Hotline.
Samples taken during the inspections were analyzed in the ministry's laboratories. As a result of the tests, products contrary to food safety regulations were identified. All companies included in the list have been disclosed.
