Father reveals: Bloodstain belonging to another woman found on Rojin's undershirt
The father of Rojin Kabaiş, who was found dead 18 days after going missing in Van, stated that there was no possibility of his daughter committing suicide and announced that a bloodstain belonging to another woman was found on her undershirt.
Following the death of 21-year-old Rojin Kabaiş, a first-year student at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University's Faculty of Education, her father, Nizamettin Kabaiş, claimed that his daughter was a victim of murder and said: “My daughter was not in a state to commit suicide. As a family, we are in great pain. Our search for justice will continue.” After Rojin Kabaiş went missing on September 27, a search was conducted for 18 days, and her lifeless body was found on October 15 on the shore of Mollakasım Village following a tip from a citizen.
CLAIMS OF “IT WAS NOT SUICIDE”
Rojin Kabaiş’s father stated that his daughter was not in a condition to commit suicide, saying, "After my daughter started school, her mood was perfectly fine. She had no problems. No one can tell us she committed suicide. Following the incident, the claims that it was suicide upset us twice as much. While there was no evidence regarding the incident, the authorities upset us unfairly by making claims about suicide."
Stating that the dormitory and the university played a major role in the negligence surrounding Rojin Kabaiş’s disappearance, Nizamettin Kabaiş said, "They did not inform us for 18 days after she went missing. She disappeared on Friday evening, and they notified us toward noon on Saturday. This is gross negligence, and this negligence led to her death," he said, filing a complaint against the university and dormitory management. Father Kabaiş also expressed his reaction to the lack of any disciplinary action, saying, "No dismissal or disciplinary action has been taken yet. However, we have filed a complaint, and we will follow the process."
REQUEST FOR INTERVIEW WITH ROOMMATE
Stating that the friend who stayed in her room during the time she went missing never met with them, father Kabaiş said, "We constantly wanted to meet with her roommate. We were there during the search process, but the person staying in the room never met with us. In this regard, the university administration was very strict about not meeting with students who wanted to support us," he expressed.
Stating that a bloodstain belonging to another woman was found on Rojin Kabaiş's undershirt, father Kabaiş said, "This blood reveals that Rojin was a victim of murder. In our meetings with the prosecutor's office, we reached the information that this blood belongs to another woman. Who is this woman? Why was her blood found on Rojin's undershirt? All of these need to be brought to light." Furthermore, father Kabaiş drew attention to the threatening messages they received, saying, "I received threatening messages from foreign numbers a month ago. However, this did not intimidate me; I will continue my struggle," he said, expressing that he would follow the process.
Nizamettin Kabaiş made a call for help to solve his daughter's murder. "Whoever committed this murder, someone from the nearest villages, the university, or the students must know something. Please help us. We need to track down these killers," he said. Father Kabaiş also requested help from state officials, saying, "We expect help from our leaders, such as the President, the Minister of Interior, and the Minister of Justice, to clarify this file. This file has not been solved for years; this murder must be clarified," he said, demanding that justice be served.
The autopsy and forensic medical examinations conducted after Rojin Kabaiş’s death strengthened the suspicion of murder. Based on the latest reports, father Kabaiş said, "This is no longer just a missing person case; it is definitely a murder. The investigations regarding this murder need to be concluded as soon as possible."
