FETÖ operation conducted: Maydonoz Döner employee tells all... How did the business rise so rapidly?

New details continue to emerge in the FETÖ operation targeting the famous restaurant chain Maydonoz Döner, which operates out of Istanbul and has numerous branches both domestically and abroad.

The testimony of R.Ö., one of the former employees who appears to have benefited from effective remorse provisions, has further deepened the scope of the operation.

MOBBING APPLIED AND RAPID ADVANCEMENT

According to R.Ö.'s testimony, they were subjected to systematic mobbing in the workplace under pretexts such as declining turnover and disorder in the store. However, more striking was the rapid rise of certain individuals within the store. R.Ö. stated that I.B. and A.T., who had been dismissed from public service, rose rapidly within a short period of four months and became official partners of the store. R.Ö. said, "I do not know how these people, who have ongoing trials and records of dismissal, were able to grow so quickly."

KHK-DISMISSED INDIVIDUALS AND LINKS TO THE SECRET STRUCTURE

Although R.Ö. stated that they did not encounter FETÖ links among employees such as couriers, döner chefs, and service staff at the store, they made striking confessions regarding some of the store managers.

They revealed that some of the store managers had served in the organization's secret structure, while others were individuals dismissed by decree-laws (KHK).

EFFECTIVE REMORSE CONFESSION

R.Ö. stated that they benefited from effective remorse provisions and, for this reason, described the difficulties they faced in the workplace. R.Ö. noted that one day the store manager, M.A., asked them "how many years of sentence they received." When R.Ö. said they received 1 year and 6 months, M.A. reportedly asked again how they received such a short sentence, noting that people usually receive 5 or 7 years. Although R.Ö. did not tell M.A. that they had benefited from effective remorse provisions, it was stated that M.A. had understood that R.Ö. had provided testimony.

ALLEGATIONS OF DISMISSALS AND SHARE OWNERSHIP

R.Ö. stated that during the process of being hired as a waiter, the friend who hired them said they could become a partner in the restaurant chain with a 5 percent share, but this offer was withdrawn when it was learned that they had benefited from effective remorse provisions.

Following this, they stated that they were subjected to pressure in the workplace and were eventually dismissed.

FETÖ OPERATION CONDUCTED

In the operation carried out in 31 provinces with its center in Antalya, 353 suspects were detained.
