Flash development regarding the lieutenants: Is Ebru Eroğlu returning?
The court's cancellation of the dismissal decision at the Tuzla Infantry School has turned eyes toward Lieutenant Ebru and other lieutenants who were similarly separated from the army. Questions such as 'Is Lieutenant Ebru also returning?' have come to the fore on social media.
Last November, the Istanbul 5th Administrative Court issued an important ruling regarding Lieutenant Ö.S., who was expelled from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) after warning another lieutenant at the Tuzla Infantry School for not wearing an Atatürk pin.
The judiciary unanimously canceled the young officer's expulsion from the army. This development has paved the way for Ö.S. to rejoin the ranks of the Turkish Armed Forces.
While the court's decision resonated with the public, the situation of five other lieutenants who were previously expelled from the army for similar reasons began to be discussed on social media.
Users frequently shared photos of Ebru Eroğlu, bringing the question "Will Lieutenant Ebru also return?" to the agenda.
It was noted that among the five expelled officers, only Deniz Demirtaş has been reinstated to his duty through the courts. Ebru Eroğlu, İzzet Akarsu, Serhat Gündar, and Batuhan Gazi Kılıç have not yet been able to return to duty.
HAD DRAWN ATTENTION WITH HER SUCCESS
Lieutenant Ebru had drawn attention by entering and graduating from the Military Academy as the top student, and had also achieved various successes in sports and marksmanship. Eroğlu, who also successfully completed the basic commando course alongside men, received her diploma from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Speaking on a television program following the process, retired general Naim Babüroğlu drew attention with his remarks: "If I were in office, I would have convinced the President not to expel the lieutenants."
