Former national footballer İbrahim Akın has taken legal action regarding an apartment located in the Konak district of İzmir following the death of his father, Erdoğan Akın.

Seeking a share of his father's estate, Akın filed a lawsuit against his sister, Nilgün Akın, claiming "half of it is mine." The inheritance dispute, which began over the assets of Erdoğan Akın, who passed away five years ago, has also brought hidden details within the family to light.

''HE TURNED TO THE INHERITANCE WHEN HIS MONEY RAN OUT''

Speaking about the legal process, Nilgün Akın criticized her brother harshly. Akın stated, "Five years have passed since my father's death. Now he suddenly appears and demands an inheritance. He must have spent all his transfer money and run out of cash, so he set his sights on this apartment. He didn't care for him in life or death, and now he has emerged for this property he knows he has no right to."

According to a report by Yeni Asır, Erdoğan Akın's wife, Semahat Akın, decided to adopt a girl after being unable to have children due to health issues.

During this period, it was learned that İbrahim Akın was born to a caregiver working in the home and was later brought into the family. Akın officially took his father's surname after turning 18.

COUNTER-LAWSUIT FILED

In response to the lawsuit filed by İbrahim Akın, his sister Nilgün Akın and mother Semahat Akın have also sought legal recourse. The counter-lawsuit petition argues that İbrahim Akın cannot be a legal heir and that his claim lacks a legal basis regarding both the statute of limitations and lineage. Nilgün Akın stated, "Where was he until now? It is absurd for him to file such a lawsuit when he has no rights. He is struggling in the wrong place."
