Former MP's son kills his mother! The reason has been revealed

Gülay Işıklar (54), the wife of former MP Ahmet Fehmi Işıklar (85), was shot and killed by her son, Can Işıklar (28).

In the incident that took place in the Bağarası neighborhood of İzmir's Foça district, Can Işıklar, the son of 85-year-old Fehmi Işıklar—a former deputy speaker of the Turkish Parliament, married and a father of 6—fired a handgun at his mother, Gülay Işıklar. Upon reports from those who heard the gunshots, gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the address.

Checks by medical teams confirmed that Gülay Işıklar had lost her life. The murder suspect, Can Işıklar, was taken into custody by gendarmerie teams and brought to the District Gendarmerie Command.

It was learned that in his statement, Can Işıklar said he was arguing with his mother during the incident and that the gun went off accidentally during a struggle as he tried to grab the handgun on the table.

SUSPECT ARRESTED

Can Işıklar was arrested by the court on charges of 'causing death by negligence' and sent to İzmir Şakran Prison.

ARRIVED AT 5 AM

It was learned that Can Işıklar had been on bad terms with his family because he had an accident while intoxicated the day before the incident, and that he argued with his siblings Fırat and Dicle when he arrived home intoxicated at 5 a.m. on the day of the incident.

THE REASON FOR THE MURDER HAS BEEN REVEALED

It was revealed that mother Gülay Işıklar, who heard the noise, woke up and argued with her son, asking, "Why are you coming home at 5 in the morning?" and that Can Işıklar shot his mother during the argument.
