Gang that stole millions of liras through fake marriages dismantled: Exposed by Müge Anlı

A fraud case that emerged in the Yahyalı neighborhood of Denizli's Çivril district left its mark on the ‘Müge Anlı ile Tatlı Sert’ program.

The process, which began with a complaint from a man identified as H.Ö. who was defrauded under the promise of marriage, determined that the gang targeted victims through fake weddings.

The incident reached the media after the groom, H.Ö., stated that his wife had disappeared with the jewelry one day after the wedding.

Many people, like H.Ö. who recounted his experiences on the program, revealed that they had been defrauded in a similar manner.

As the number of victims from different provinces such as Denizli, Konya, and Afyon continued to rise, the details of the fraud methods were shocking.

It was learned that the gang gained trust by playing the roles of "fake bride, mother, and father," and would then disappear with the money and jewelry collected at the weddings.

The Denizli Provincial Gendarmerie Command launched a comprehensive operation following the victims' statements.

Gang members Gülden S., Hatice P., and Murat Y. were taken into custody during a raid conducted in Çivril.

Following health checks, the suspects were brought before a court, arrested, and sent to prison.

It was revealed that the fraud gang had collected millions of liras worth of money and jewelry from victims through fake marriages and intermediaries. While the three arrested suspects were sent to the Denizli Closed Penal Institution, the investigation is ongoing.
