A gasoline canister was found in his vehicle in the area where the fire started: Striking FETÖ allegation regarding that individual!
The forest fire between Orhaneli and Harmancık grew again before it could be brought under control. Ufuk A., a former soldier who was allegedly dismissed following a FETÖ investigation and in whose vehicle a gasoline canister was found in the area where the fire started, has been taken into custody.
The forest fire that began yesterday in the Meyran locality on the Harmancık road in Bursa's Orhaneli district had been partially brought under control during the night. However, the fire, which flared up again in the morning due to the wind, continues to threaten the region.
While 133 vehicles and 442 personnel continue to intervene in the fire, the neighborhoods of Çakmak, Çatalsöğüt, Çamoğlu, Ilıcaksu, Dutluca, and Gedikören in Harmancık district, as well as Yakuplar neighborhood in Orhaneli district, were evacuated as a precaution as the flames approached residential areas.
SUSPECT WITH GASOLINE CANISTER IN CUSTODY
While the investigation into the cause of the fire continues, a suspect was taken into custody following reports from citizens in the region. According to allegations, a vehicle roaming the fire zone drew attention. When it was noticed that there were gasoline canisters in the bed of the vehicle, citizens reported the situation to the gendarmerie.
It was learned that the suspect is 30-year-old Ufuk A. Ufuk A., who resides in the Ballısaray neighborhood, was caught and taken into custody while leaving a student dormitory in the Topbaşı neighborhood of Harmancık.
ALLEGED TO BE A DISMISSED FORMER SOLDIER
It was alleged that the suspect, Ufuk A., had been dismissed from the Turkish Armed Forces as part of a FETÖ investigation.
While gasoline canisters were found during the search of the suspect's vehicle, citizens at the scene caused tension. The crowd wanted to attack the suspect.
The suspect, who had bandages on his arms and legs, denied the accusations regarding the fire. In response to questions from citizens asking, "Did you get burned while setting the forest on fire?", he replied, "I had an accident at home, I got burned there." However, the crowd was not convinced by this explanation.
The suspect, Ufuk A., was removed from the area by security forces and taken to the Police Department. As citizens continued to gather in front of the police building, intense security measures were taken in the surrounding area.
