Grave allegations regarding the owner and partners of Grand Kartal Hotel: Look at what he said despite the fire department report!
New details continue to emerge regarding the fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel, where 78 people tragically lost their lives. It has been revealed that Halit Ergül, who was arrested following the hotel fire marked by a chain of negligence, operated the hotel together with his wife Emine Murtazaoğlu Ergül and their daughters Elif Aras and Ceyda Hacıbekiroğlu. It is alleged that despite the 8 deficiencies noted in the fire department report, Halit Ergül said, "It would be a waste to do these now. Let the season end, and then we will undergo a complete renovation."
78 citizens lost their lives in the fire that broke out at the Grand Kartal Hotel, located at the Kartalkaya Ski Center in Bolu. As part of the investigation into the disaster, 14 suspects were detained, and hotel owner Halit Ergül and operations manager Emir Aras were arrested after being referred to the courthouse.
While the investigation continues, a new link is added every day to the chain of negligence regarding the hotel. It has been revealed that the partners of the arrested boss, Halit Ergül, in Bolu's popular ski center Kartalkaya, were members of his own family.
According to a report by Hürriyet newspaper, Emine Murtazaoğlu, one of the two children of Grand Kartal Hotel founder Mazhar Murtazaoğlu, married the hotel's accountant, Halit Ergül. Ergül later founded the Gazella SPA hotel on the Bolu Gölcük Road.
GAZELLE IN SUMMER, GRAND KARTAL IN WINTER
As Chairman of the Board, Ergül ensured that his wife, Emine Murtazaoğlu Ergül, and their daughters, Elif Aras and Ceyda Hacıbekiroğlu, also had a say in the company's management until 2027 as shareholders and board members of Grand Kartal Tourism.
Those who know the family and those who have commercial relations with the hotel claimed that both daughters were active in the hotel's management and that they stayed at Gazelle during the summer season and continuously at Grand Kartal during the winter season.
It was stated that during the fire, both daughters were on the suite floor, referred to as the hotel's royal suite, along with their children, and it was alleged that these floors were specially furnished for the family, with even the curtains and covers selected from fire-resistant fabrics.
CEYDA HACIBEKİROĞLU HAD CLOSED HER ACCOUNT AFTER THE BACKLASH
Following the fire, Ceyda Hacıbekiroğlu had requested sensitivity on her social media account and closed her account after the backlash she received.
"LET THE SEASON END, THEN WE WILL DO IT" ALLEGATION
Prominent figures in Bolu alleged that Halit Ergül avoided fixing the hotel's deficiencies due to his greed for profit.
It is alleged that upon seeing the 8 deficiencies in the Bolu Municipality's fire inspection report, he said, "It is not possible for us to fulfill these without stripping the hotel from top to bottom. Doing these now would be a waste. Let the season end, and then we will undergo a complete renovation."
In the fire department's report, the deficiencies were listed as: "Evacuation exits are not suitable, illuminated directional signs are missing, there is no emergency lighting in the building, the electrical installation is not compliant, instructions for extinguishing equipment are missing, there are no detection systems or fire alarms, and there is no lightning rod or smoke controller. The emergency exit doors leading to the pool, SPA area, and restaurant room are also not in compliance with fire regulations."
