He drew attention with the words 'Reis, you are a very great man': A new move from the person who canceled İmamoğlu's diploma

While the academic report prepared for the cancellation of the diploma submitted to the Supreme Election Council during Ekrem İmamoğlu's presidential candidacy process created a great controversy in the public eye, Prof. Dr. Levent Şahin, one of the architects of this process, is now the target of social media users.

Istanbul University faculty member Şahin, in the face of intense criticism and posts directed at him on social media, applied to the Istanbul Anatolian 4th Criminal Judgeship of Peace and requested the removal of the content.

HE HAD SHOWERED ERDOĞAN WITH PRAISE

Past posts made by Prof. Dr. Levent Şahin on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter) further fueled the controversy. Şahin had used the expressions, addressing President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, "Reis, you are a very great man, I hope you will be at the head of our country for many more years."

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

Istanbul University had canceled the diploma of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.

İmamoğlu had stated that the authority regarding the decision to cancel the diploma belonged only to the Faculty of Business Administration Board of Directors.

İmamoğlu had used the expressions, "The days when those who made this decision will be held accountable before history and justice are near. The march of our nation, which is thirsty for justice, law, and democracy, will not be stopped."
