CHP İstanbul Deputy Yunus Emre accused journalist Nuray Başaran with very harsh language on social media. Emre accused Başaran of being a secret witness in the Ergenekon investigations and of collaborating with international intelligence services.

In his social media post, Yunus Emre claimed that Başaran's relations with U.S. diplomats exceeded the boundaries of journalistic activity. Citing WikiLeaks documents, Emre stated, “The lady's contacts with U.S. diplomatic mission officials are far beyond journalistic activities.”

Basing his allegations on statements by CHP's Tuncay Özkan, Emre argued that Nuray Başaran had collaborated with the CIA, Mossad, and the MIT (National Intelligence Organization) prior to the Ergenekon operations.

RESPONSE FROM BAŞARAN: “THEY ARE DISHONORABLE!”

Nuray Başaran responded to the allegations on her social media account with very harsh language. Başaran stated, “Whoever is a secret witness, whoever claims this, and whoever writes it is DISHONORABLE!”

Just as I did in the criminal complaint I filed with the prosecutor's office against those who slandered me by saying, ‘She was Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu’s advisor and received millions from the CHP’; I requested that the CHP's accounts be examined (within the framework of my right to defense) and that the sources of income of HALK TV, which broadcast this, be investigated!
