The sentence for the defendant who first punched a 7-year-old child in Tuzla and then threw him to the ground has been determined. The court stated that the crime of "intentional injury" was committed against a victim who was unable to defend himself, and sentenced the defendant to 1 year and 6 months in prison.

According to the report by Sabah, the court did not apply a reduction to the sentence, but suspended it, stating that there was no damage to be compensated and that a positive opinion had been formed that he would not commit a crime again. It also ordered the defendant's release.

THREW A 7-YEAR-OLD CHILD TO THE GROUND

On October 6, 7-year-old B.E.A. was playing with his friends in the parking lot of a shopping mall in Tuzla, Istanbul.

Abdullah Kocaman, who worked at the adjacent wedding hall and was disturbed by the noise of the children, went over to them.

He first punched B.E.A., then picked up the child who had fallen to the ground and threw him from a height of one meter onto the ground.

The child hit his head on the ground and lost consciousness for a while; the attacker, who was taken into custody, was arrested on October 9.

HE HAD BEEN RELEASED ON OCTOBER 21

A lawsuit was filed against him with a request for up to 1 year and 6 months in prison for the crime of "simple injury".

Having spent 12 days in prison after the indictment was accepted before the trial began, the attacker was released on October 21.

Following the emergence of the horrific footage of the incident, the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office appealed the release decision.

His arrest was requested.

The Ministry of Justice announced that the defendant was re-arrested on November 8, the date of the first hearing.

The Ministry of Family and Social Services also intervened in the case.

The verdict was reached in the 2nd session of the case at the Istanbul 42nd Criminal Court of First Instance. The defendant, who previously stated that he had removed the children who were trying to enter the wedding hall, said, "They had aggressive attitudes towards me because I was constantly removing them from the hall. I am sorry, I apologize."

The young child recounted the terrifying moments in the presence of a psychologist.

Stating that the defendant came while he was playing with his friends, he said, "My friends had cursed. I did too. He slapped me and made me fall to the ground. Then he grabbed me by the neck and threw me onto the stones from a high place. I fainted."

HE WAS RELEASED

In his opinion, the Public Prosecutor noted that the victim child was unable to defend himself and that the defendant carried out his action with violent and monstrous intent.

However, he requested a reduction in the sentence, stating that the child admitted to cursing and that the defendant committed the crime under unjust provocation.

The Ministry's lawyer, on the other hand, requested that the defendant's action be evaluated as "attempted murder" and that a decision of lack of jurisdiction be issued.
