Erol Eğrek went to the Çalık Holding building in Şişli yesterday afternoon with his licensed firearm to receive his 10 years of severance pay and wanted to speak with company officials.

HE HELD THE GUN TO HIS HEAD

When his request was not met, Eğrek fired 3 shots with his gun into a planter in front of the building. Following this, as security guards and bodyguards approached him, Eğrek held the gun to his head.

THEY BEAT HIM WITH KICKS AND PUNCHES

After intervening, the security guards and bodyguards beat the 49-year-old man with kicks and punches. Eğrek, who was taken to the hospital after the blows he received, could not be saved despite all interventions.

4 OF THE DETAINED SUSPECTS WERE ARRESTED

Following the investigations by police teams dispatched to the scene, 6 bodyguards were detained in connection with the incident. Of the 6 suspects referred to the courthouse, 4 were arrested for the crime of 'intentional killing' and sent to prison. 2 suspects were released under judicial control conditions.

In the video, Eğrek states, "The company I used to work for is Çalık Holding in Turkmenistan; I have severance pay owed to me, and I have been struggling for 10 years. You will learn the details, the reasons why I couldn't get it, the reasons why it wasn't given. You will learn everything I went through. I have no ill intent in the action I am taking. I am seeking my rights. I am not asking for any extra money, charity, or grants. Let them give me my severance rights, that is all. That is the situation."

"THEY KILLED HIM AND SENT HIM AWAY"

Speaking to members of the press regarding his brother's death, Erol Eğrek's older brother said, "They killed him and sent him away. He had no grudge against anyone; he did it to make a sound. They beat him until he died. Human life should not be this cheap."
