It has been reported that the Ministry of National Defense (MSB) has submitted its first official defense in the lawsuit filed by 5 lieutenants who were dismissed from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) on the grounds of indiscipline for saying "We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal." While journalist and 12 Punto columnist Müyesser Yıldız brought the developments regarding the case to the agenda, the expression in the MSB's defense stating, "It is natural for the TSK to remove from its structure the AGENTS who disrupt its service and harm its administrative mechanism and the execution of the public service it has undertaken," drew attention. The word "agents" used in the defense was interpreted by the public as an implication of "espionage."

Journalist Uğur Ergan also brought this expression to the agenda and made an open call to the MSB. Pointing out that when the word "agent" is used, the first thing that comes to the public's mind is "spy," Ergan raised the question of whether the lieutenants were intended to be accused of espionage.

By saying "agents," what did you mean for the young lieutenants? Did you mean to call the lieutenants "spies," or did you mean "personnel" representing the TSK?

If you meant "personnel," why did you use an expression that confuses people and accuses young children of "espionage"?

Or if you meant "spies," did you not realize they were "spies" during the 5 years they spent at the Military Academy, including preparation for a foreign language, or even before that; did you not conduct security checks? Or did it only occur to you that they were "spies" when they said "We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal," or perhaps upon instructions from somewhere?
