İsmail Küçükkaya points to preparations within MHP: Is there a rift in the People's Alliance? Bahçeli to respond to claims of 'leading to an early election'

While discussions on early elections remain fresh on the political agenda, writer Mümtaz’er Türköne, who is close to Bahçeli, claimed in an interview with Cansu Çamlıbel that President Erdoğan would obstruct the resolution process and that this would push MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli to call for early elections.

Türköne used the following expressions:

“Erdoğan will sabotage the resolution process. Because he thinks that a return to the rule of law will undermine his own hegemonic power. Therefore, he will try to end the process step by step. At that point, Bahçeli will take Turkey to early elections to pave the way for the resolution process. Because this process can only move forward with an election.”

PREPARATIONS IN MHP

While it is stated that there is activity within the MHP camp following these claims, journalist İsmail Küçükkaya reported that MHP sources find this interview "provocative" and that Bahçeli will not remain silent.

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli is expected to respond today with a written statement to the "early election" scenario brought to the agenda by his former advisor Mümtaz’er Türköne.

İsmail Küçükkaya, sharing information he obtained from MHP lobbies on his program "Yeni Bir Sabah," said that Bahçeli would not remain silent against Türköne's statements and would send a message to the public with a clear statement.

A SIGNAL OF A RIFT IN THE PEOPLE'S ALLIANCE?

Early election discussions are not limited to Türköne's words. AK Party MKYK member Şamil Tayyar had also drawn attention to a rift in the ruling camp with statements he made on social media and television programs.

Tayyar stated that there are some disagreements within the People's Alliance and said that a critical meeting between Erdoğan and Bahçeli is planned.
