Istanbul earthquake is imminent! Critical warning for 4 regions from Japanese earthquake expert

Japanese earthquake expert Yoshinori Moriwaki made critical statements regarding the regions in Turkey that carry earthquake risk.

Speaking to a YouTube channel, Moriwaki drew attention to the seismic activity in the Aegean Sea and stated that an earthquake with a magnitude of 7 could occur around the island of Santorini.

Stating that such an earthquake would be felt in Mugla, Marmaris, Datca, and Izmir, Moriwaki also drew attention to the risk of a tsunami.

HE LISTED THE CRITICAL REGIONS

Furthermore, expressing that major earthquakes are expected in four critical regions in Turkey, Moriwaki stated that the East Anatolian Fault Line, the Bingol-Karliova region, the West Anatolian Fault Line, and the Marmara Region are under risk.

Stating that a major earthquake is inevitable, especially for Istanbul, the Japanese expert recalled the major earthquakes that occurred in the past off the coast of Silivri and stated that energy accumulation continues in the Marmara Sea.

TSUNAMI WARNING

Pointing out that the frequency of earthquakes in the Aegean Sea has decreased in recent days following the magnitude 5 earthquake, Moriwaki said,

"It may gradually disappear, or if it disappears for a few days, this major earthquake may come. For example, if a magnitude 7 earthquake occurs, it could be felt on the Turkish side as far as Mugla, Marmaris, Datca, and Izmir, but I do not think there will be much damage.

When an earthquake occurs in the sea, a tsunami can happen. In the worst-case scenario, it could be 3 meters. The receding of the sea is not related to the earthquake," he said.

Drawing attention to Turkey's dangerous fault lines, the Japanese earthquake expert announced the 4 regions where he expects earthquakes. Moriwaki noted the following:

"In Turkey, a major earthquake, meaning a magnitude 7 earthquake, can be expected in 4 points from now on. First, the East Anatolian Fault line; an earthquake occurred in Elazig in 2020, in Kahramanmaras in 2023, and 2 weeks later an earthquake occurred in Hatay. In other words; Turkey's earthquake is like dominoes. For the North Anatolian Fault line, it went from Erzincan in 1923, to Tokat in 1941, then Samsun, and from East to West until the 1999 earthquake. The western branch goes from Adana to Cyprus. After Cyprus, it now goes as far as Santorini. Dominoes sometimes turn backward."

EARTHQUAKE WARNING FOR 4 PROVINCES

"Secondly, the Bingol-Karliova, Mus, Bitlis, Tunceli region. Thirdly; the West Anatolian Fault line. There are many short fault lines on the Aegean side. Since the fault lines are thin and short, I do not expect a very large earthquake. The fourth is the Marmara Region; a major earthquake could occur."

ISTANBUL EARTHQUAKE WARNING

"A major earthquake occurred in 1509 in the area close to Istanbul, in front of Silivri, and then an earthquake occurred in 1766. And there is a record that a tsunami occurred at that moment. If we add 257 years to 1766, it makes 2023. So the energy has now accumulated. This, of course, is not exactly like mathematics. I can say plus or minus 20."
