Several individuals, including former Habertürk Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Akif Ersoy, who was suspended from his duties, were arrested in recent days as part of a drug investigation.

As new details regarding the investigation emerge, it has been determined that the harassment allegations involving Mehmet Akif Ersoy were previously brought to the agenda following internal complaints within the institution.

According to a report by Atakan Irmak from Sabah, some presenters conveyed their allegations of being harassed to the Habertürk Human Resources Department, but did not receive sufficient support or response to these applications.

Following this, it was stated that the presenters conveyed the situation to Mehmet Kenan Tekdağ, who was the Chairman of the Board of Can Media Group at the time and was later arrested as part of the Can Holding investigation.

Following these developments, it was noted that an internal announcement was published on August 6, 2025, signed by Kenan Tekdağ.

In the announcement in question, it was argued that the allegations made against Ersoy were "fabricated rumors intended to smear," and it was stated that rumors regarding Ersoy's dismissal did not reflect the truth.

It is claimed that the internal announcement strengthens allegations that the claims against former Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Akif Ersoy, who was arrested as part of the drug investigation, were previously known to Kenan Tekdağ.

However, it is stated that attempts were made to cover up the events through this internal announcement, which contained intimidation directed at employees.
