Landslide in Artvin: 4 missing people found after 36 hours
Following a landslide in the Arhavi district of Artvin, the car buried under the soil and the 4 missing individuals were reached after 36 hours. Efforts to clear the second lane on the Black Sea Coastal Road, where search and rescue operations are ongoing, continue.
Work by heavy machinery to open the other lane at the Kıyıcık location in Arhavi, where the landslide occurred, continued throughout the day.
Meanwhile, operations were carried out using technical equipment and drones brought in from Erzincan, Rize, and Ankara to locate a vehicle believed to be buried under the soil as a result of the landslide.
VEHICLE REACHED IN 36 HOURS
Search and rescue teams, focusing on the spot where the vehicle had been dragged from the Rize-Artvin lane toward the seashore during the landslide, found the vehicle.
4 MISSING PEOPLE FOUND
The car with license plate 28 AAB 485, which was determined to be buried under the debris, was reached, and the lifeless bodies of the 4 young people inside were recovered.
While search and rescue teams continue their efforts to extract the vehicle, it was also learned that the risk of further landslides remains.
