The Altay snowstorm, which has been effective in Istanbul since February 19, has increased water levels in the dams. Following the precipitation in the city, the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ) announced the current occupancy rates of the dams.
The increase observed in the Ömerli, Darlık, Elmalı, Terkos, Alibey, Büyükçekmece, Sazlıdere, Istrancalar, Kazandere, and Pabuçdere dams drew attention. The average dam occupancy rate across Istanbul has reached 69.04 percent.
The occupancy rates of dams in Istanbul shared by İSKİ are as follows:
Alibey: 57%
Büyükçekmece: 66%
Darlık: 65%
Elmalı: 91%
Istrancalar: 99%
Kazandere: 77%
Pabuçdere: 74%
Sazlıdere: 52%
Terkos: 72%
