Menzil infighting spills over into the AKP

The inheritance crisis that has led to armed clashes within the Menzil sect has begun to draw the AKP into its orbit.

While it is claimed that meetings have occasionally taken place between Saki Elhüseyni, one of the prominent figures of the community, and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, it is also alleged that Saki's brothers, Mübarek and Emin Elhüseyni, have been holding meetings with former Parliament Speaker Bülent Arınç.

Following these developments, it is stated that some figures within the AKP have taken sides in the split between the brothers.

In a statement made at the "sharia court" established to find a solution within the community, Saki Elhüseyni had indicated that President Erdoğan was involved in the inheritance issue.

CONTACT WITH ARINÇ

According to a report by Cumhuriyet, the brothers Mübarek and Emin Elhüseyni have made contact with former Parliament Speaker Bülent Arınç in order to secure political support.

Community sources claim that Mübarek and Emin have been holding meetings with Arınç to correct the negative public perception regarding cases in Europe and Turkey, primarily the "qualified fraud" case in the UK.

Furthermore, it was noted that they view this contact as a strategy to utilize the competition within the AKP against the political relationships established by their older brother.
