Summer has arrived, temperatures have begun to reach record levels, and precautions against forest fires have been tightened.
STATEMENT FROM MINISTER YUMAKLI
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı drew attention to the rising temperatures.
"Green homeland" Emphasizing that everyone needs to be more careful than ever, Yumaklı stated, "Meteorological data predicts an extraordinary rise in temperatures for the coming days. These conditions maximize the risk of forest fires."
'LET US BE PREPARED AGAINST FIRES'
Yumaklı underlined that as a Ministry, they are ready to fight fires with nearly two centuries of experience, state-of-the-art equipment, unstoppable air and land vehicles, and forest heroes, and noted the following:
"Let us not forget that the real success is ensuring that a forest fire never starts. One act of negligence, one moment of carelessness can destroy thousands of trees and countless living creatures within them. Please let us stay away from behaviors that will cause fires in both forested and rural areas. Therefore, it is my call once again: let us not burn stubble, let us not light fires in forested areas, let us not discard cigarette butts, let us throw waste into trash bins, let us keep water tankers and fire extinguishers nearby while operating combine harvesters and balers, and if we see even the slightest smoke, let us call 112."
