Mustafa Varank is at a loss for how to criticize! His 'poor Turkish' comment on İmamoğlu brings that name to mind!
AKP member Mustafa Varank criticized a note written by Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently in custody, to be conveyed to citizens, stating, "It is truly poor Turkish." While Varank's post drew backlash, many citizens reminded him of Binali Yıldırım's spelling error.
Along with İmamoğlu, Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan and Beylikdüzü Mayor Murat Çalık were also taken into custody. A total of 106 people were issued detention orders as part of the operation launched against İmamoğlu.
İmamoğlu, who is in custody, sent a note through his lawyer to convey his message to the citizens.
In the note he penned by hand, he used the following expressions:
'Our nation will give the necessary response to the wrongs committed, the conspiracies, the traps, the lies, those who violate the rights of the public, and those who steal the will of the people.
I entrust myself first to God, and then to our nation... Respectfully'
Quoting İmamoğlu's note, AKP member Mustafa Varank stated, 'Truly poor Turkish; it is now understood why he could not pass the university entrance exam...'
Reactions to Varank's post on social media were swift. The post received thousands of comments.
