Nepotism scandal at PTT: CHP member reveals documents

Messages revealing that a system of nepotism, rather than merit, has been established in PTT personnel recruitment have leaked onto social media.

CHP Gaziantep MP Hasan Öztürkmen shared correspondence from the Gaziantep AKP Provincial Presidency WhatsApp group with the press.

The messages show that AKP board members were asked to submit names of individuals to be hired.

According to the leaked correspondence, AKP board members were requested to share the name of one candidate each who met the specified criteria. The message stated that if the number of candidates exceeded the set quota, a lottery would be held, and members who provided references would also be considered for future recruitment. Furthermore, the correspondence emphasized that the matter should be kept confidential.

Hasan Öztürkmen said, "These documents clearly expose the nepotism system in public institutions. In a normal country, this correspondence would cause an uproar. However, our citizens have been experiencing the desperation of this system for years."

Reacting to the nepotism system at PTT, Öztürkmen emphasized that this unfair system victimizes qualified young people and causes great harm to society.

Öztürkmen stated, "We have lost many of our young people, such as Mert Akdoğan and Doğuş Can Kavaklı, who were eliminated in interviews because of this system. We will not remain silent about this order; we will continue to fight for justice to be served."

There has been no statement from government officials regarding the correspondence yet.
