WHO IS REZA ZARRAB?
Iranian-born Zarrab became known in Turkey through his marriage to singer Ebru Gündeş.
Arrested as part of the December 17-25 investigation, Zarrab made headlines with allegations that he bribed AKP figures.
Zarrab, who remained in prison for approximately 70 days, was later released and the charges against him were dropped.
Arrested in the US in 2016, Zarrab was accused of violating sanctions against Iran. Testifying as a cooperating witness during the trial process, Zarrab also served as a witness in the case against Halkbank executive Hakan Atilla.
