New regulation on meal cards! SSI has the final word
The Social Security Institution (SSI) has announced a new regulation regarding the use of meal cards. Amounts up to 158 TL will not be included in the premium base even if used for non-meal expenses, but any amount exceeding this limit will be included in the earnings subject to premiums.

The Social Security Institution (SSI) has issued a statement regarding the use of meal cards.
In the statement, it was noted: "If used for purposes other than meals, the 158.00 TL amount will not be subject to premiums, but the portion exceeding this amount will be subject to earnings subject to premiums."
The following statements were included in the announcement made by the SSI:
"When the meal card/check/voucher is used only for meal payments, the loaded amount will not be included in the earnings subject to premiums.
If the meal card/check/voucher is used for purposes other than meals, the 158.00 TL amount will not be subject to premiums, but the portion exceeding this amount will be subject to earnings subject to premiums."
