The notable AKP connection of 'Alo Fatih' Mehmet Fatih Saraç, who was detained in the betting scandal operation: He had appeared in the December 17-25 wiretap recordings

Following the announcement of a betting scandal by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), simultaneous operations were carried out in 12 provinces as part of an investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

The operations resulted in detention warrants being issued for a total of 21 people. Among the names, which include 17 referees and Eyüpspor President Murat Özkaya, was Mehmet Fatih Saraç, the former Kasımpaşa President known as "Alo Fatih."

While 18 people have been detained, it was learned that there are additional detention warrants for individuals including Turgay Ciner.

Mehmet Fatih Saraç, one of the names detained as part of the betting scandal investigation, is known to the public as "Alo Fatih." The significance of this name stems from his past relationships.

Saraç was featured in the wiretap recordings during the December 17-25 corruption investigation and was heading the Ciner Media Group at that time. In various phone conversations, it was noted that he acted almost like a media representative for the government.

STRONG FAMILY TIES TO THE AKP

Saraç's ties to the AKP are shaped particularly through his family. Journalist İsmail Saymaz stated that Saraç's son is an AKP MKYK member and Deputy Chairman of Foreign Affairs.

Mehmet Fatih Saraç's son, Muhammed Emin Saraç, is known as one of the closest figures to the AK Party. Born in 1988, Muhammed Emin Saraç serves as a member of the Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK) at Erdoğan's 8th Ordinary Grand Congress.

Furthermore, Mehmet Fatih Saraç's older brother, Yekda Saraç, served as the former President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Family ties are not limited to this; Saraç's father, Muhammed Emin Saraç, is known as President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's teacher from his time at the Imam Hatip school. Erdoğan's attendance at Muhammed Emin Saraç's funeral also reveals the depth of these relationships.

Mehmet Fatih Saraç's family also has close ties to football. His brother, Zafer Bahadır Saraç, serves on the Board of Directors of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF).

His other brother, Ziya Bahadır Saraç, serves as a Deputy Chairman in the AKP's Promotion and Media Department. In this context, the influential positions held by the Saraç family in both football management and the political sphere are noteworthy.

Mehmet Fatih Saraç was previously issued a travel ban after testifying in the Ciner Holding investigation. However, his earlier release had drawn public attention.
